Kids’ & Family Tech Expo | September 13, 2016 NYC

How many press will attend and what kind? We anticipate 50 press, including print (magazines and newspapers), online, broadcast, social influencers and bloggers. We are inviting carefully vetted representatives from top-tier parenting, tech, lifestyle, news, business and general-interest media.

When can we get a list of media guests? Child’s Play will provide all exhibitors with an attendee contact list within 48 hours after the event. Lists will not be made available prior to the event, as we will not know actual turnout until the event itself.

How much media coverage will my products get? This is impossible to forecast. The goal of the Kids’ & Family Tech Expo is to create visibility for your products among leading media. Resulting coverage will depend on whether individual press like your products and how diligent your own post-event follow-up efforts are.

Who are your sponsors? We are just signing sponsors now for the September 2016 Expo and will share their names as they join. Past sponsors of Child’s Play Communications media events have included Nickelodeon, Cuisinart, Disney, the Toy Industry Foundation, Cold Stone Creamery, K’NEX, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Playtex, Pottery Barn Kids, MEGA Brands, Hershey’s, Dyson, Bandai, Summit Toys, In Zone Brands, Goddard Schools, Toyota, Vermont Teddy Bear, Restaurant.com, California Strawberry Commission and The Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau, among others.

How is this event different from CES? It’s completely different from CES. First of all, your company won’t get lost among hundreds of other exhibitors, many of whom probably have bigger, flashier, more expensive display booths than you do. Kids’ & Family Tech levels the playing field, offering companies of all sizes the opportunity to present their products in a simple and affordable way.

How is this event different from Toy Fair? This event is completely different from Toy Fair, for the same reasons as it’s different from CES (see above) and because it is not all toys. Instead, Kids’ & Family Tech will present a broad array of technology-based products that appeal to kids and families.

What should we bring to the event? One sample of up to 4 products, your business cards, perhaps a small receptacle for collecting media business cards, and any additional background materials/information you may wish to share, ideally including a link to your website and/or social media channels and additional details on the products you are presenting.

Do I need to ship items to the venue or can I just bring them with me? You may bring products, etc. with you the day of the event. Please contact Child’s Play Communications ([email protected]) regarding shipping information.

Do we need to provide our own signage? Child’s Play will provide tent cards for the table with your company name and logo. If you would like to have additional signage, please provide it.

What if I want to show video on a large TV screen? Exhibitors may rent TV screens or other equipment beforehand for an additional charge. Child’s Play must be notified no later than September 1 of any equipment rental needs so that we can help you make arrangements.

Will we be able to use the space in front of our table for display? Arrangements may be made with Child’s Play prior to the event to purchase additional display space. Otherwise, product may be displayed on the 6’ table only.

Will lunch be served? Yes, there will be a complimentary buffet lunch available for both exhibitors and press.

What time does set up begin? Exhibitors will have access to the space starting at 10 a.m.

Do we need to do giveaways at our booth? No, but a giveaway of some sort is always a good idea to attract media attention.
